CROWNING OF THE JUNIOR QUEST ENTRANT

Friday 8th October, 1999

We would like to thank the following entrants:

Billi-Jo Coombe
Emma Brown
Lucas Gray

These entrants have worked very hard raising money and raising money is never easy, so on behalf of the Broken Hill Country Music Festival Club, we would like to say thank you for all the hard work you have contributed.

Following is a small message from each entrant, we hope you enjoy their thoughts.
My name is Billi-Jo Coombe. I am 11 years old. I am in Year 6 at Menindee Central School. My hobbies are playing sport, reading and linedancing. I started linedancing when I was 8. I was in a team of 6 for my first competition in Broken Hill, we came 1st. After that I teamed up with Amanda Muscat in the Duo Section, we won the Silver Boot in Broken Hill. Then we went to Whyalla and came 2nd then we came 3rd the next year. To raise money for the Quest, I have been having raffles, selling cakes at my Nana's Shop, money squares, a linedancing social, housie, lotto, stalls at fetes and collecting bottles and cans. I would like to thank my Mum (Joanne), Dad (Bob), Nan and Johnny & Petrina (Robyn's shop). Pop and Nana for collecting and stacking the cans. Toby and Carol for selling tickets. I would also like to thank everyone else who helped in some way and to all who bought tickets and numbers.

My name is Emma Brown, I am 3 years old. I have a brother named Nicholas, who was a Quest Entrant 2 years ago. My family have been working very hard to raise money for The Broken Hill Country Music Festival Quest. If I am lucky enought to win Mum, Dad, Nicholas, myself, Grandma, Uncle Christopher, Aunty Kellie, Baily, Uncle Corey, Auntie Kathy, Jake and Georgina are going to Queensland for a holiday.
My name is Lucas Gray I am two and half years old. I am into playing outside in the dirt, watching cartoons, the Wiggles and I am mad about Winnie The Pooh. I love all kinds of animals especially dogs. I have got a puppy, his name is Buddy. I also have a rabbit, some birds and fish. Thank you to the family and friends who helped me with my fundraising. Especially Nanna Gray, Karen and Karen. A huge thank you to the public for buying tickets and cakes every Thursday out the front of St George Bank. To Julie and Adrian (Ben's Fish Shop) for sponsoring me.
